Apparently not. They don't drop to the ground dead while sitting on the wire, but

are able to primp, preen, look around, and leave the wire when they feel like it.

If the bird is not touching the ground or another conductor while sitting on the high voltage wire, it will not be shocked. This is due to the principle of equipotentiality, where the bird and the wire are at the same electrical potential.

A bird sitting on the wire flies away if a high voltage is passed through the wire?

This is due to the high voltage creating a potential difference between the wire and the bird, resulting in an electric shock if the bird provides a path for current flow. This can cause harm or be fatal to the bird, prompting it to fly away to avoid the dangerous situation.

How many volts of electricity is emitted from the primary corona wire to place the charge on the drum during the conditioning phase?

The voltage applied to the corona wire in a xerographic copier or printer varies depending on the manufacturer and model, however, it is a high voltage. On the other hand, that voltage is applied but is not emitted. It is a static electrical voltage and does not go anywhere (there is no effective current)

What is the purpose voltmeter?

The purpose of a voltmeter is to measure the voltage difference between two points in an electric circuit. It helps in determining if the circuit is functioning correctly and can also be used to troubleshoot issues related to voltage levels.

What would induce a greater electric current in a wire?

A greater electric current in a wire can be induced by increasing the voltage applied across the wire or decreasing the resistance of the wire. Both factors contribute to Ohm's Law (V=IR), where V is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance. Increasing the voltage or decreasing the resistance will lead to a higher current flowing through the wire.

What is the purpose if the outer jacket around wire?

To keep you from getting shocked and resist electrical leakage

I have a question about high voltage for my school project. the is What would happen to me if i would be shocked by high voltage. Would I be knocked off or would i would stay on the wire still being shock.?

If you got shocked by any type of electrical current it would certainly knock you off the wire .

Metaphor simile ect for shocked?

As shocked as a bird landing on live wire. :)

Why doesnt a bird standing on a high voltage wire get electrocuted?

The wires are coated in rubber.

Why can some birds land on high voltage lines without getting shocked and and some can't?

To get electric shock, the circuit must be completed and the subject who is in the path, or who becomes the path gets shock. When a bird sits on the wire, there is no closed path or circuit hence it does not shock. Same bird while sitting on the wire, and part of its body touches the earth or ground it then will get shock.

Why does rats or mouse do not experience electric shock on high tension wire?

An animal such as a bird or rodent sitting on a "high tension wire" (electrical line) will not be shocked because it is not connected to a lower voltage, or ground. In order for electricity to flow there must be a difference in potential. (The scenes in movies where people fry when they are suspended in the air on high voltage grids are not in accordance with the laws of science-just as Superman could not really stop a speeding bullet or falling meteor.) If you-- a person-- touch the same wire while standing on the ground your body WILL provde a means of current flow as you are conectged to "ground"--which, by definition is low or no voltage. but if you are ONLY on the wire, and not the ground, same result. No current flow.

When you touch the high voltage wires you feel current but when birds sit on them they do not feel currentwhy?

Birds are less susceptible to electric shock because they do not provide a path for the current to flow through their bodies to the ground. Their body has a higher resistance compared to humans, which prevents the flow of current. Additionally, birds have adapted behaviors and physical features that help prevent electrical accidents, such as not providing a direct path to ground and having insulating feathers.

Why birds do not get electric current when they sit on electric wire?

In order for electricity to shock something it needs to be touching the ground. Electricity goes through the body and back into the ground. Since the crow is in no way touching the ground the electricity has no where to go and thus can not shock the crow. If you touch the wire and are not touching anything that conducts electricity (like metal) and are not touching the ground you will not get shocked either. But if you stand on the ground and touch the wire you will get shocked.

Why bird does not die sitting on a wire and man does even if he is not connected in any way to the earth?

As long as there is no path to earth both the bird and the man won't get shocked.

What happens if someone touches a high voltage wire?

If they are grounded they get an electric shock or electrocuted. If they are not grounded or in simultaneous contact with the neutral wire, nothing. That's why birds can sit on a high voltage wire and survive; they are not grounded.
