When a chao is 5 years old and it is sitting looking sick or sad it recarnates or it comes to death. When a chao has a pink ball going around it recarnates back into its egg and it is happy and a good chance for a chaos chao. BUT when a chao hates you it has a grey ball which means DEATH and the chao will never come back EVER! Your hope for a chaos chao and recartnation!
How do you get chao?
Chao can be obtained in either Sonic Adventure or Sonic Adventure 2. To get one simply find the Chao garden in that particular game. In Sonic Adventure you just go into the hotel in Station Square and go up the left elevator. This will bring you to the Station Square Chao garden. The first time you enter, there will be two chao eggs inside. To hatch them press X or B to grab them and to hold them for a while and let go. The egg will hatch and a chao will come out! Congrats you now have your first chao! In Sonic Adventure 2 simply find a chao box in a stage (its a blue box), open it and grab the key. Then finish the stage you're on and you will warp to the Chao garden. Go inside the garden and follow the same procedure described above.

ok so what ya wanna do in SADX is go in as sonic and give the chao all devil chao fruits (located at the store!!) while ur feeding them to him give him animals that will make him the type you want (ex: bunnys=run lion=power seal=swim bird=fly!) then he should be come that chao in SA2B its much more simpler! just go in to the dark chao garden (the bottem chao garden) as shadow, rouge, or eggman WARNING!!! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE MEAN TO THE CHAO AS A HERO CHARACTER! THAT DOESNT CHANGE ANYTHING!! DONT BE FOOLED BY THESE STUPID PPL WHO SAY U GOTTA BE MEAN AS SONIC!
