The Chilton's manual is fine for someone who has a good baseline of knowledge to begin with. But if you do not know what you are doing, it does not provide enough information. Remember this is an INTERFERENCE engine. Do this repair incorrectly, and when you attempt to start the engine, you will more likely than not, cause internal engine damage. If it were a non-interference engine, I would say, give it a try and if you make a mistake, the engine would just not start, but no damage will be done. Not the case with this engine. Your decision.
