I hope so!
it sort of seems like for the last two years or so the macbook pro updates has been steady in update interval pairs. for example, from 2007-2010, apple updated the macbook pro on an average interval of 8 months. the last update was April 13th of 2010, and since then, it has been 9 months. the update before the April one was also a 10 month wait, so by the pattern of nearly twos, i would think that the update was coming around February.
MacBook Pro does not come with eSATA support. If you have MacBook Pro with ExpressCard support, you can get adapter which would allow you to use eSATA. Note: Latest MacBook Pro laptops do not come even with ExpressCard support. Firewire is the fastest available option right now (2010).
Nothing will happen, just restart the update.
MacBook Pro is the best you can get
Yes, you can physically install a 2012 MacBook Pro keyboard on a 2010 MacBook Pro, as they share similar designs. However, compatibility issues may arise due to differences in connectors and keyboard layouts, which could affect functionality. It's advisable to check the specific model compatibility and consider potential software or firmware discrepancies before proceeding with the installation.

By "new", there could be more MacBook's coming out with higher processors but that's about the only thing that will change about them. If you are worried about buying a MacBook and then a new version coming out shortly after, don't bother worrying - if you need/want one, just buy it. To answer your questions; no. At least not one with any important changes.
