i believe that cuz so many people watch the vampire diaries i believe they will be bringing a season 5 and even a 6 and 7 if we can keep the rates up :). Also the last episode of season four, it showed Silas's true form as Stephen's "dopleginger" and Silas drowning Stephen, so its kinda proof of a next season; 'cause they wouldn't just ended it if it's rates were that high.
