Tricare only covers ultra sounds if there is an issue. Tricare will make you pay for it if it is just a routine ultra sound.
Why doesn't Medicare cover the cost of acupuncture?
Acupuncture is considered an alterntive treatment. Insurance and medicare does not cover alternative treatments. The reasons for this have their roots in history and the development of pharmeceudical medicine. Alternative treatments are not considered "proven scientific practices," even though acupuncture, herbal treatments, and other alternative treatments have been used with success for decades or centuries.

If you have Tricare Prime through your husband who is retired military and you also have Blue Shield through work as a federal employee which is primary and which is secondary?
Tricare prime from your husband is the primary and your federal employee insurance is secondary. It means whatever Tricare Prime does not cover, Blue Shield should pick it up. Ah, wrong. If you read the Tricare documentation, it clearly states if you have another health insurance company, Tricare is automatically the secondary. It doesn't matter who is the military member.
Does Tricare pay for veterinary care for pets?
No, Tricare is the health insurance provided for active servicemembers in the US Military and their immediate families (spouse and children). It would not cover veterinary services provided for family animals.
