A Redtail and an Oscar are two different types of fish
Oscars are cichlids! They are from the South American group of cichlids. Fish can mate only within the same species. Oscars can only mate with other Oscars.
The Oscar fish naturally stay calm when they are in a pair.keeping more than two Oscars in the same fish tank can cause then to get aggressiveso keep two Oscars at the max in one tank.
They should be OK together if they are about the same size and you have a large tank (Over 50gals) set up. If you have a pair of Oscars and they decide to breed you will have to remove all other fish.
Depends on the type of fish you plan to put together. For instance, beta fish prefer to be alone.
True sharks can not be kept with Oscars. Oscars are freshwater fish and Sharks live in the ocean. There are however several species of freshwater fish that are commonly called sharks that could possibly be kept with Oscars provided the tank is large enough.
Yes, but it is not alone in having done so, Titanic (1997) won 11 Oscars (nominated for 14), same as Ben-Hur (1959) (nominated for 12) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) (nominated for 11).
No.
No. They're not even in the same family, let alone the same species.
Oscars reproduce the same way many other fish reproduce. The female deposits her eggs, then the male comes along to fertilize them. Both parents guard the nest once the eggs are fertilized and the eggs hatch in two to three days.
Other than by doing the procedure called "Venting" there is no known method of sexing Oscars. Of course, actually watching the fish spawn helps too. Then it is the female that lays the eggs and the male that follows doing the fertilizing. Any two Oscars are likely to lock jaws and wrestle. This happens as part of the mating ritual as they check out one anothers strength, and it also happens between two fish of the same sex when they are battling for their place in the "pecking order".
Tigerclaw killed Redtail in a battle at Sunningrocks by the Thunderpath. Tigerclaw was attempting to prove his loyalty to ThunderClan by helping defend the territory.
