Yes. Suboxone is a synthetic opiate, and you become addicted to it just like any other opiate drug. Going cold turkey from it is no fun at all. That's one of the reasons that suboxone replacement therapy is not a good idea. If a person runs out, they are likely to turn back to heroin or other opiates to avoid the withdrawal syndrome.

∙ 14y agoNo, you won't. You wouldn't even get sick if you took opiate drugs while on Suboxone (cocaine is not an opiate). What you can't do is the reverse -- take Suboxone while you're on opiate drugs. That will make you sick.

I would have to disagree with you on this, it will have to depend on how you ingested it and how much you where taking and what type ( the orange suboxone or the white subutex or the orange strip of suboxone) the orange suboxone, or sims or stop signs can only be ingested by letting it dissolve under you tongue, the orange strip can be smoked or dissolved under your tongue, and the white subutex can be crushed and snorted which will get you high, or dissolved under you tongue. Now with that said! If you snort the white ones on a regular basis you will go thrue a withdrawal just like heroin use ie.. stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, lethargic, mood swings ect. if you use them to get over the withdrawals which is what thier for and you cold turkey it then yes you will get sore, motioned sickened, headaches, constipation or diarrhea so you will have the same symptoms as a unusual withdrawal but not so intense if you dissolve it, like i said snorted is totally different! also, if you have been on it for a couple months then yes that means your depended on it and you are going to get sick, oh ya i forgot to mention the chills and sweats! good luck and you life will get better! go to meetings, addiction is a life long commitment and you can not stray at all nor slack off on it or it WILL take you over again, look up aa or na meetings online for info on them for areas around you. i hope this helps

∙ 13y agoNEVER mix these 2 drugs, the pain blocker in the suboxone fights the methadone off of your pain receptors and cancel each other out, so not only do you not feel anything it sends you into immediate withdrawls. I had to go to the e.r.

I would give the methadone a good four days to get out but keep taking your suboxone so you dont get sick. i have been on probation taking u.a.'s for about a year and have been on suboxone for the same amount of time. I take a sub the morning of my test and it shows clean everytime. just quit the methadone and you will be fine!

However, long exposure to the narcotic antagonist in Suboxone will have made you far more sensitive to opiates like methadone. There is a good chance of overdose. Absolutely not. a Suboxone dr. won't even see you. You need to get your methadone dose down to 30mg. Then they want you off methadone for 3 days before starting Suboxone. They want you in the beginnings of w/drawals. The chemicals in Suboxone will pull the methadone out of it's receptors but not replace it right away, so the receptors remain empty and you get sick.
