You may experience some hair loss because your hair is so dark. Normally when hair is that dark getting it from black to blonde is done in a two step application or visit to the salon. That is called the double blonde process.
It also depends on the strength developer you use. As we know a 10 will only lift your hair 1 time, so it may not be blonde after that first application, it will only be brown. You can also use a 20, 30 or 40 developer, a 40 will get you there quicker but yes it will be very damaging to your hair.
It will make your hair dry, brittle and dull.
Everyone hair type is different but if you do this make sure your condition and add moisture to your hair often.
Purchase some color treated products for your hair.
I have personally done this numerous times and my hair shedded very bad until I got it back to a healthy condition.
I wouldn't recommend doing this at all, Unless I go through the two step process. Normally you get it prelightened using the lowest developer a 10 or 20 and then you go back for the final color using a higher strength developer.
Either way bleach and lightening the hair is very bad as it removes the pigment from your hair. It causes it to break badly if not tooken care of properly.
