I think the death of William Rufus was a murder because it was just too convenient that he got separated and shot whilst hunting. I also suspect that his brother Henry hired someone to shoot William Rufus, as he was jealous of his brothers' powers. Because Robert was the oldest, he was supposed to take the crown but he was too far away so Henry took it instead. This, to me, seems well planned because Henry then sentenced Robert to prison for no good reason so he could not get his hands on the crown.
