Wind energy can be converted to electricity by wind turbines in many formats. The electricity an be used in anything.
Wind energy can be converted directly to mechanical energy (Dutch Windmills) to power pumps or mills.
Wind energy can be used as a motive force for sail boats and ice boats.
It help green housewives dry their clothes
Kites use wind energy to lift weights and amuse children.
Aeolian harps are made to play.
Sailplanes or gliders use wind to power their flight
Theo Jansen uses wind to make sculptures that walk across the land (http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=sNA_bd0b1bw)
An aside: Seems this could be made into a poem!
in windy regions as an alternative source of energy, usually not the sole source but a contributor. Fossil fuel plants must be built to supplement these systems as wind varies and thus provides limited overall power. Currently we use them as primary power for P.R. purposes. Fossil fuel plants run (unattached to grid) to backup these sites. NO where has wind ever replace even a single fossil fuel plant.
The oldest wind mills are found in Holland. People in Holland figured out a way to harness energy form the wind many centuries ago.
This was then adapted by other countries too.
Wind energy is really clean burning source of energy.
Wind energy has been used for thousands of years. related to the wind that runs along the surface, wind energy is a very smart way, in my eyes, to give energy to the rest of the world!!!
Wherever there's wind, and an interest and ability to use the energy in it.
Windmills, wind turbines, sailing boats etc.
The wind power is not invented; it is a natural phenomenon. The use of this energy is very old, from the antiquity.
i think it was first used in some where i think it was first used in some where i think it was first used in some where
In windy places, it really isn't it is found in wind turbines.
Wind turbines are used on wind mills, which are usually placed where land and wind are abundant. There are even wind mills placed in sea near the shores.
Wind power is used by a spinning turbine.
solar energy is energy from the sun and wind energy is energy from the wind
Wind energy does not help the environment exactly. But using other sources of energy such as burning fossil fuels or using nuclear power can hurt the environment. So wind is less hurtful 6 these other sources energy in many ways because wind energy does not create harmful waste products (CO2 in the case of fossil fuels and radioactive waste were nuclear power). Wind energy has it's own problems however: it has been show that the turbines can kill birds that fly into them, and some people find them ugly to look at. There are no sources of energy that are known that HELP the environment. There are just some that hurt it less than others. The best way to help the environment is to let it be undisturbed!!
Because renewable energy, like wind and solar, has no greenhouse gas emissions.
Wind energy is recovered by changing wind energy to electricity
Blowing wind has kinetic energy. This can be transformed into electrical energy using a turbine to transform the wind into rotational kinetic energy and a generator or alternator to convert the rotational kinetic energy to electrical energy. Water above a dam has potential energy from gravity and also from the weight of the water around it. Once it is moving or flowing down through the pipes it then has kinetic energy.
it started with the sailing ships back in Egypt, and then windmills up to Europe
No but ya mumma will!
Wind energy is generated by wind!! *gasp*
You can capture wind energy by using windmills and tubines. Farmers have them to capture wind energy.
I'm looking into wind energy.
Around 2% of energy consumption is wind energy.
Wind energy is collected by using wind turbines and making electricity which powers a generator that can control the energy.
Wind energy doesn't pollute the air.
A windmill produced electricity while the wind blows. It may produce energy when the wind blows and people don't need it. People don't need all the energy a windmill produces all the time but they may need energy when the wind is not blowing. Windmills are therefore linked up to battery systems and charge the batteries when the wind is blowing, energy is being produced, and nobody is using it. When people need energy and the wind is not blowing (no power is being produced) they use power from the batteries.
Solar energy is not available when the day is cloudy.Wind energy is not available when wind is not blowing.
A wind machine called windmills is powered by the energy of the wind. It is designed to convert the energy of the wind into more useful forms using rotating blades.
i think people have learned to use less energy from certian things like gas, coal, or oil by using solar, wind, and water to make energy, but in general no. if anything people are using more energy than ever.
