if you have checked the voltage with a dvom then you need to verify that the power source at the fuel pump relay is correct, if it has the correct voltage pre-relay then your problem is post-relay. if the voltage is not correct pre-relay then simply trace and repair the power source. if the problem is post relay then check the output voltage directly at the relay, if voltage is good trace and repair line from relay to pump. if voltage is not correct then replace the fuel pump relay
Fuel pump inertia switch " tripped " , blown fuse for electric fuel pump , bad fuel pump relay , broken wire ( anybody else have any ideas ? )
Either the fuel pump fuses is blown or the fuel pump relay is defective. That is assuming all the wiring is connected or you do not have a loose wire or short in the wiring.
check for voltage back where the hot wire connects to the fuel pump. also check groundwire off fuel pump. check fuel pump fuse / check fuel pump relay.
Yes 2001 and later have electric fuel pumps. They need battery voltage to work.
so you have voltage going to the pump but none or minimal voltage on the other side of the pump? definate dead pump. if you able to see voltage do a continuity test between the power and ground pins on the pump, if theres no continuity then you will know that you will need a new pump. cheers.
The Chevrolet Lumina fuel pump is powered by the electrical system. The fuel pump has a ground wire and a positive wire. The positive wire goes to the fuel pump relay switch.
CHECK THE CONNECTOR THAT IS ABOVE THE TRANSMISSION. MY POWER WIRE TO THE FUEL PUMP WAS LOOSE IN THE CONNECTOR AND CAUSED THE VAN TO SHUT OFF. I FOUND THIS AFTER I REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP.
No, the fuel pump relay engages and sends voltage to the fuel pump. The fuel pump requires 12 V DC to operate properly. A fuel pressure test will verify the condition of the fuel pump.
YES, there is an electric fuel pump inside of the fuel tank.
Could be any of these: Bad fuel pump, blown fuse or broken wire (if you have an electric pump), dirty fuel filter, blocked fuel line, fuel line leaking, no gas in the tank.
Some had Fuel Injection with an electric pump and some had a carburetor with a manual pump. If it is FI it has an electric pump.
Yes , the electric fuel pump is inside the fuel tank
