As he was never crowned no one will ever know.
Julius Caesar was both a hero and a tyrant, it all depended upon how you felt about him . To his soldiers he was a hero but to some of his fellow politicians he was a tyrant. Even today, there are those who consider him a hero and others who would call him a tyrant.Julius Caesar was both a hero and a tyrant, it all depended upon how you felt about him . Brutus and the conspirators believed that Julius Caesar was going to become a tyrant and destroy Rome with his dictatorship. Brutus was very honorable and believed that if they killed Caesar they will be remembered as the men who saved Rome from a tyrant and will become the most honorable men in Rome. But after the death of Caesar they were the most hated men in Rome. Brutus was manipulated and persuaded by Cassius' inspirational words about saving Rome and its people that he forgot the real purpose of killing Caesar. Brutus was the only one who wanted to kill Caesar for Rome the rest just wanted to kill him out of sheer jealousy.(All the conspirators thought that he[Caesar] was power hungry and too powerful for his own good.)
Caesar died because the senators of the Roman Republic feared the Caesar would become too powerful and become King of Rome.
Julius Caesar was assassinated by senators on "The Ides of March" - March 15, 44 B.C.E., at the age of 55. The senators were worried his power was getting out of hand and would Rome would become a monarchy again (they were afraid Julius Caesar would become king). He was going to meet with the senators, and when he got there, they surrounded him and stabbed him 23 times until he was dead.
Brutus cites Caesar's ambition as the primary flaw that motivated his decision to kill him. He believed that Caesar's desire for power threatened the freedom and welfare of the Roman people. Brutus feared that Caesar would become a tyrant, undermining the Republic's values and leading to the oppression of its citizens. Thus, he justified the assassination as a necessary act to protect Rome.

He fears Caesar would gain to much power.
A tyrant rules with his fist. There is no room for a tyrant in a democracy.
you could not just simply become a patrician you would have to be rich or have met the caesar and you could become one by bing a highly skilled gladiator or even a bodyguard of the caesar
The conspirators against Caesar were a group of prominent Roman politicians and senators. They feared Caesar would use his high levels of popularity to have himself declared king and to destroy the Roman Republic. They thought that Caesar was likely to rule as a tyrant, and they wanted to preserve the power of the Senatorial class. The conspirators killed Caesar on 15 March 44 BC by stabbing him repeatedly on the steps to the Roman Forum. There were supposedly 40 Senators who plotted to kill Caesar. Some of their names were: * Marcus Junius Brutus (Caesar's close friend and possible illegitimate son; according to some historians Caesar cried out "You too, my child!" when he was attacked by Brutus) * Gaius Cassius Longinus * Servius Sulpicius Galba * Servilius Casca.
Brutus thought that he was honourable and right. He and his fellow conspirators thought that they were saving the Roman Republic because Julius Caesar had given the impression that he wanted to become a king. This would have meant the end of the Republic. The Roman Republic had been established centuries earlier following a rebellion against the last king of Rome, who was a tyrant. The Romans decided to establish a republic headed by two annually elected consuls to prevent the return of tyranny. They also swore not to let anyone try to become a king ever again. During the Early Republic one man was executed and another one was forced to commit suicide because of accusations of trying to become a king. Many Romans thought that if Caesar became a king he would become a tyrant.
actually Octavian would've become leader after Julius Caesar because it was in his secret will. He said that he would appoint Octavian (Augustus Caesar) on the day of his death. Any day that that would be.
