The best route in terms of speed and comfort requires a prudent driver to head for Walsenburg and then head North on Interstate 25. A total of about 315 miles will have to be covered and the driving time will be about 6 hours. Other routes are interesting, but pack a lunch and expect a few minor delays, silly little things like avalanches, snow falls, rock slides, waash-outs and flooding do happen in the Rockies.
