No because vampires exist when there are werewolves, and Edward and Bella were destined for each other in that way. If vampires and werewolves did not exist then Bella and Jacob would be made for each other as Edward and the others would not be alive and she would have never have met them and Jacob wouldn't be a werewolf as vampires don't exist so he therefore would not imprint on her.

I think Jacob would have been all woopdy do because he lurved Bella.If Bella chose Jacob then Edward would be extremely sad but would leave them alone because he knows that's best for Bella. He would probably move away from Forks to wallow in his sadness but keep a close eye on Bella in case she gets in trouble. Jacob might imprint on someone else (like what happened with Sam and Leah) and leave Bella. Then she might go crying to Edward who doesn't come back. She would be left with no one and Jacob would feel extremely sorry to her but not come back. As for Edward, he would keep his distance. In the end Bella would have no one and learn her lesson about making choices. Then Edward might come back to the rescue because he isn't strong enough to stay away from Bella. Therefore, Bella would end up with Edward any way and she should chose the easier way (choosing Edward in the beginning) saving everyone from hardships and sorrow. Bella and Edward are destined for each other.

At the end of new moon Bella had to decide wether to go with Edward or Jacob. She chose Edward and because she chose the ''bloodsuckers'' Jacob didn't want anything to do with it, AS long as Edward stuck to the treaty. The treaty says that the Cullen family is not allowed to change a human to a vampire.
