NO IT WILL NOT. Must use V-8 frame mounts and motor mounts.
Yes, a 283, 305, 307, 327 etc will fit. You should be able to use small block motor mounts from 1966
Are you talking about the mounts that secure the cab? and by "how does it ride", I would assume you mean the quality of the ride. I would think it would be pretty bad at times.
You would have to do a lot of modifying on the body mounts. and a whole lot of other things.
motor mounts?
I'm trying to find that site that has 4.3 V6 motor frame mounts for a 1986 Chevy C10 pickup. PLease help me locate it ? I would appreciate it very much. thank you.
move your base mounts forward 1 bolt hole on crossmember
It would depend on your environment. If it stays well above freezing, straight 30 weight is fine.
no
If they are both 3100 engines...yes. Direct swap. The only thing you MAY have to change would be the motor mounts.
You need to check all of the mounts. Get a manual to show you where they are.
The subframe would be the same. The only thing with different engines would be engine mounts. But that has nothing to do with the subframe.
It won't be a "bolt in". It won't bolt up to the original motor mounts or transmission bellhousing but, with a few more parts and lots of $ you can make it work. All small blocks (283, 327 & 350) have the holes on the front of the block for the "59" motor mounts. The tranny mount would have to be fabricated. You might check chevychevy.com for adapters.
