No.
According to the official policy of the church, United Methodist pastors are not allowed to celebrate unions of same gender couples. Such rites are not allowed in United Methodist churches or on church property.
Were a United Methodist pastor to marry a lesbian couple s/he would be in danger of being brought up on charges that could result in the severing of his/her connection to the conference. They could be defrocked. However, several have done so in protest. The results often end in defrocking.
The United Methodist Church has had internal debate on homosexuality since at least 1972. To date, while homosexual persons are individuals of sacred worth, the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching.
Many within the denomination are working to change this stance. The Church is not of one mind on this issue.
A Methodist minister may be referred to as "reverend" or "pastor."
A lesbian partner would be the significant other of a lesbian. A lesbian couple can be referred to as parters rather than girlfriends or wives.
A lesbian is a woman who is attracted to other women. Like the way a girl would have a crush on a boy, a lesbian would have a crush on a girl. So I suppose yes, a lesbian couple is two girls, two girls who are a couple - just like a man and a woman.
You would have to be ordained and the felony may be a major stumbling block. I would think that most congregations would not vote to hire a pastor who has been convicted. However, there may be one out there that serves a community where it would be possible.
I would!! To bad she's a lesbian :(
If they are married, they are referred to as a "married couple." If they are not married, usually the term "girlfriends" would apply.
Of course not. Twidash may be a popular couple in fanfiction, but the writers would never put something as controversial as a lesbian couple on the show.
Not that I know of. If you're looking for the lesbian couple, though, that would be Uranus and Neptune (or Haruka and Michiru).
I would say Baptist, since the couple was married by the power in authority to the Baptist pastor, the place doesn't matter. If they're married outside their not under the denomination of wind, they'd be under the denomination of the pastor.
Depending on the context, "Methodist" could be a noun, a part of a proper noun, or an adjective. Methodist should always be capitalized. Noun: Susie is a Methodist. Part of a Proper Noun: I am a member of The United Methodist Church. I was born at Methodist Hospital. Adjective: That is a Methodist church. Prevenient grace is a distinctive belief of Methodist theology. John Wesley is the founder of the Methodist movement. I was born at a Methodist hospital.
If an atheist couple wanted a Pentecostal pastor to marry them he might oblige and might even cut back the ceremony to include just the civil marriage parts. It's hard to picture why either party would want to participate except as the result of a friendship outside of the religious sphere.
She would be a lesbian. Also, no one would be a homo. This is a ridiculous, outdated word.
