It really depends on the raising of them. Keep mind that these African dogs were originally bred to kill lions and other wild game. They were used by the monarchs of Rhodesia as guard dogs.
If raised well they can be great family dogs, but they need extensive socializing to prevent overprotectiveness and agressiveness towards other dogs and intruders.
