Although most people never change their fuel filters, they should be changed at a minimum of one year intervals. Most people don't change the fuel filter, and their fuel pumps burn out from having to force fuel through a clogged filter after the vehicle is about 5 years old. Quite frankly if your vehicle stopped running due to a clogged filter, plan on replacing the pump in the next few months.
