Conflicts between these two species evidently have occurred, there are stories in the text of horned owls killing red tails at night, while the hawks were sleeping, and there are reports of red tails killing unaware horned owls during daylight hours. Both species are capable killers, with powerful talons, and are very oppurtunistic predators, taking whatever species they can bring down. If the two met in a dusk conflict, for example, and both were at full strength, the hawk would probably kill the owl, for it has a more powerful beak, while the weaker bill of the owl is used primarily to dismember its prey.
No because a great horned owl is the second largest owl in America and i think it is bigger than a eagle owl
The eat skunks, rats, mice, and other small rodents. Eagle owls have been known to eat small deer.
It is not common for a great horned owl to eat a fox, but it does sometimes happen.
Something like this would be pretty rare. A Bald Eagle may eat smaller owls such as screech owls, but probably not a Great Horned. An eagle may kill a Great Horned in a chance encounter, perhaps over a nest site.
Northern goshawks even eat great horned owl so DEFINITIVELY the northern goshawk would win
This is a strange question, so be prepared for a strange answer. Great Horned Owls will not eat Eagles, but sometimes Golden Eagles attack Great Horned Owls!
