Yes. Had a 1994 Suburban 4X4 with 350 V8. Started loosing power at about 184,000 miles. Had fuel filter changed by rear gas tank, frame, mount. It cost $64 at Jiffy Lube to have it changed. The old filter clogged and blocked about 1/2 the fuel flow at 184,000. Trunk ran like new after that, so I have them changed at about 100,000 miles now. What a difference!
dirty fuel filter, bad fuel pump,or clogged fuel lines.start with the fuel filter
have you tried looking to see if your your fuel filter is clogged.
Yes it can.... if the fuel is so cold it will start to get wax crystals in it. Therefore the engine is not getting enough fuel and you will lose power and is clogging up your fuel filter. Other reasons can be clogged air filter, fuel filter, or water in fuel. Change the air filter and drain the fuel filter or change it if it's a year old or worse older.
If it is restricting the flow of fuel, it can cause low power.
It would if it is so clogged that is blocks the flow of gasoline to the engine.Yes, if an insufficient amount of fuel is getting through the fuel filter.
Plugged fuel filter.
Fuel filter may be clogged. Replace the fuel filter.
A 1989 Ford Escort would not be getting fuel if the fuel pump has failed or the filter is clogged. A local mechanic or dealership can diagnose and repair the problem.
bad fuel pump, no gas in the tank, pluged fuel filter.
A clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump or the fuel line is blocked/damaged. What about a fuel relay fuse?
In order of probablility: fuel filter, fuel pump fuse, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, control system.
Sounds like the fuel isn't getting into the engine. Could be a filter problem, or perhaps a pump problem.
