Ferrets are carnivores (they are not rodents) and have been used for centuries to exterminate rodents and hunting rabbits. Because of their natural instincts, they might prey on rodents, birds or reptiles. Ferrets are not safe around mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc.
From other contributors:
Yes, the ferret would harm the guinea pig. It would be very likely that the new ferret would latch on to your guinea pig at the first opportunity and your guinea pig would probably die of shock.
Having said that, I do have two guinea pigs and three ferrets (and now three newborn baby ferrets)...but I make sure that they never ever get to see each other, and that works out fine for everyone.
Hope this helps.
It doesnt harm anyone but why would you want to make out with your pet
A pet ferret cannot prevent you from being pregnant.
petco or pets and company
there is no littlest pet shop vip that is a ferret
You better not put ferrets and guinea pigs together, since ferrets are natural predators and have a hunting and killing instinct when it comes to rodents. It's very likely for a ferret to kill a guinea pig since it reminds him of mice and other rodents wild ferrets hunt. Ferrets are able to kill chickens, so better not try to wait and see what happens if you put your ferret with a guinea pig.
No, a ferret would not be a good present at Christmas for anyone. If someone wants a pet, let them choose one for themselves.
you can usually get ferret shampoo from pet shops or markets
Both are okay. Guinea pigs don't really smell that nice, but they aren't nocturnal. If the child wants to play with their pet often, a guinea pig would be the best. Hamsters are cuter and more affectionate. They don't smell, but they're nocturnal. They sleep in the daytime and will get stressed and irritated if the child bothers them in the middle of a nap.
Ferret
There is only one breed of domestic ferret.
