"Hold" mode tells the transmission not to shift, or to "hold" a particular gear. This is useful occasionally when towing, or while climbing long, moderately steep grades.
Continuing to drive in "hold" mode under normal conditions will cause extra stress on the engine and transmission, due to excessive RPM, or lugging the engine under too few RPM.
You will also lose fuel economy, and power in some cases, depending on the gear you tell it to "hold".
if you get dirt in a transmission while drive 1000 miles you could ruin it. no question about it...
Possible transmission damage due to the overheating.Possible transmission damage due to the overheating.
depending on the type of vehicle you own yes it can harm your transmission. i would always use D due to better gas mileage, and smoother driving.
No, but why would you?
There is no such thing as "transmission oil" there is only transmission fluid, but but over filling the reservoir could cause serious damage to your transmission..
could be failing transmission
Your transmission might automatically shift out of overdrive while driving on the interstate because of low transmission fluid. This issue might also occur because of a bad transmission sensor or overdrive sensor.
If it is an autmatic transmission that would be your best bet, but if its a standard it also possibly be a clutch
It could damage the transmission. Normally it will break or damage the park pall gear. From your question, I have to assume you have doen this. If there appears to be no damage, then don't worry about it. You may be ok. You bet it is! If you actually manaqged to get it into park - then you would have had to go from drive to neutral to reveres then park - Have no clue how you maanaged that! Unless you have a manual xmission. However, there is also a parking pin that goes into the transmission that may now be broken off - bad!
No, you should not use Mobil 1 transmission fluid in a 2000 Mustang T5 transmission. The T5 typically requires specific manual transmission fluid, such as ATF or a dedicated manual transmission fluid, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations. Using the incorrect fluid can lead to poor performance and potential damage to the transmission. Always refer to the owner's manual for the correct fluid specifications.
Yep!
The transmission will not work without fluid.
