probably would bolt up , which you could tell by making a bolt template of the alternator bracket, but the 2.4 may require an alternator with more voltage especially if air conditioning is introduced

Assuming you have a serpentine belt on that 3.3L engine, the tension on the alternator would be controlled by the idler (tension) pulley. The alternator is stationary.
It will not cause the engine to overheat. You have another problem.
