The correct answer is NO

BUTI have seen systems with two unrelated problems have this happen. By forcing back the pistons in the caliper pushes the brake pedal up so the brake lights go out.

The second problem is related to why the pedal does not return correctly:

  • Master cylinder damage
  • Weak or broken return spring
  • Faulty brake booster.

And so on
