Many names of high schools in Japan are correspondent to their respective prefectures where they are located, and also their founders' surnames (in Japanese surnames come first). The title 高等学校 /kou tou ga-kkou/ meaning 'senior high school' (where junior high school would mean middle school) follows the title.
