I don't want to have one I have one, and, if tame, they are beautiful pets. Singing morning to night, chattering on in there own world, playing, and even doing tricks and since when did a dog or cat look up and say "hello". They do point a downside though. Parrots are not easy pets and do require lots of attention. I'd say start with a budgie or cockatiel and if you can handle that maybe look into getting into the higher maintanence birds. Oh, and be careful make sure the parrot your thinking about purchasing is legal in you area.

∙ 9y agoThat all depends on if you can care for it, give it the things it needs and the time. Parrots are very much like having a baby. They cost money and time. You can't just put this bird in a cage all day and look at it, they need a minimum of 2 hours outside the cage with you a day, more if you can do it. They constantly go through toys and need more because their beaks are so hard and sharp. And you have to be able to stand screaming and parrot talk my suggestion is do a lot of research and then decide if you can handle it

Ok..........that is a REALLY weird question. But i would like to answer it. I have a parrot for a pet. I loved the way it repeated things in a really cute voice. It's a good way of keeping any guests engaged with. They are quite good at greeting if you teach it. One more thing, NEVER tell a parrot any personal thing, it might be VERY embarrassing for you! I talk through experience.
