What would society think if you got rid of death penalty?

Sensible persons don't think that death penalty is a solution. Murderers don't take on account the death penalty when they plan an assassination. They simply ignore it, because their bad nature is stronger than the idea of dying.

Is death penalty too harsh a penalty?

Depends on what you did. I honestly think that if you raped or killed someone, the death penalty wouldn't be too harsh. i agree with this how would you like it if someone killed your brother or something you would want pay back i kno i would

Why death penalty is not good in civilized society?

Actually, opinions on this vary. But the tendency, nowadays, is that a majority of people think that the death penalty is uncivilized. Some arguments against the death penalty is that it is used disproportionately against ethnic minorities (for example, black people in the United States), and that it is irreversible (and there have been many cases where people executed, or people who were planned to be executed, turned out to be innocent). For further arguments, both for and against the death penalty, I suggest you consult the Wikipedia article on "Death penalty".

Does New Hampshire have death penalty?

No. The New York Supreme Court declared part of the state capital punishment statute unconstitutional in 2004, and upheld their decision in 2007. The New York legislature has not acted to reinstate the penalty or amend the law.

Why should the death penalty be revoked?

In my opinion I think that the death penalty doesnt help at all in any way possible. Because if you are sentenced to the death penalty and you were to die in the electric chair, would it teach you anything or would you care if you were dieing because it would be instant death and you don't feel anything. It wouldn't teach you anything and for one, if you were for example, in a high security prison vault with no social contact to the outside world, would that be a better and more reasonable punishment for you would be living through what you did and would never do that again. Also, other people would learn that they would have to be put through that forever if they were caught and that would scare off people and the crimes would go down. Right now, the death penalty isn't scaring off any criminals. In fact, the crimes in America are going UP fast and gangs are breaking out. Also, the death penalty cost over 180 million just to kill 5 people with the electric chair. That money ends up being paid back by regular peoples TAX money. If we were to put the criminals in prison, we would be saving around $240 million. And that money could go to crime fields and to the FBI or CIA or Police to search and stop crimes from happening. Bear in mind that the death penalty takes away a persons life though it doesnt help anyone does it? "Killing a killer is killing" "If we are against abortion, how can we be for the death penalty?" I firmly believe that the death penalty should be revoked and NEVER TO COME BACK!

Would you apply for the job of executioner if the death penalty was reinstated?

Do you agree that the Death Penalty is useful in decreasing crime rates?

Well I think all punishment decreases crime rates but I think the death penalty decreases the most amount of crime. However, it remains extremely difficult to show a relationship between crime rates and the death penalty, and it's questionable whether a criminal that would be willing commit a crime that is punishable by life in prison would be deterred by a possible death penalty. The stakes are so high in both cases that the punishment likely isn't a determinate on whether the criminal will proceed.
