There would be sunlight as long as we are close enough to our sun. If our planet escaped from the suns gravitational pull and disappeared off into space away from the sun then it would get very dark. This is unlikely to happen though.

What planets does Mars revolve around?

Mars does not revolve around any planets, it is a planet in its own right. If it did, it would be called a moon. It orbits the sun directly.

Can planets and dwarf planets revolve around the sun?

Yes, they revolve around the sun in their orbits. Their orbits depend on their weight, which would determine the weight of gravity in individual cases, and the planets are controlled by their own gravity and the centrifugal and centriputal forces always in effect.

What is the purpose for the planets to revolve around the sun if earth is known to be the only planet with living organisms on it?

every planet has a certain amount of days to reach a year. So just like earth, other planets would have to revolve around the earth. (this was an easy question to not already be answered)

Would it be possible for a planet to revolve about the sun?

The planets orbit the sun.

Why do planets take different times to revolve around the sun?

The planets in our solar system all orbit (revolve) around the sun on a plane called the ecliptic plane but each of their individual orbits has a different perimeter ranging from small (which would be the closest to the sun) to big (which would be further away from the sun). Since Mercury has the smallest perimeter of orbit, it is the closest planet to the sun and is thus more drawn by the suns gravitational force, both its small perimeter and strong gravitational pull make it revolve around the sun faster, and the bigger the planets orbital perimeter is the further away from the sun it is and the slower its orbit is.

What do you call a circular path to do with the solar system?

if you mean the imaginary line that the planets travel on it's called an 'Orbit' or 'obital path'

What are the two planets that move around each other in the solar system?

All planets revolve around the Sun. There are no binary planet systems in our Solar System. The dwarf planets Pluto and Charon are possible candidates for a binary system because of the barycentre. The other alternative would be Pluto and Neptune because of Pluto's chaotic orbit.

How long would it take for mercury to revolve around the sun?

it takes mercury 88 earth days to revolve around the sun

What would happen if the sun was the size of a city?

Our solar system might have been totally different to the the one we have. The sun has gravitational forces that pull the planets while they revolve around it. If the sun was smaller, then the planets would have much smaller too. The temperatures generated by the sun on the planets might not have been sufficient to sustain life either.

What would happen to the season if the earth did not revolve around the sun?

If the earth did not revolve around the sun, there would not be any seasons. The problem is that if the earth did not revolve around the sun, that is, if it came to a stop in its orbit, the sun's gravity (with just the tiniest help from the earth's) would pull the earth into the sun.
