I would name my child Jesus, and not because he is my Savior
Jesus is an awesome name
In the Bible, the Arch Angel Gabriel (I think) came to Mary to inform here that God had created a child in her (keep your mind out of the gutter), that her child would be the son of god, and that she would name the child Jesus. Mary told Joseph (is that the right name? <yes that is the right name> ) about all of this, and he decided to Mary her immediately because it was illegal to have a child out of wedlock, and Mary would have been stoned to death (as in people would throw rocks at her). So yes, Jesus Christ's parents were fully aware that Jesus was the son of God.
Who would torture their child by naming them POWER?!?!?! pick a normal name you freak like connor or Adam or something Jesus
----------------------- The only biblical connection between Jesus and the name Emmanuel (or Immanuel) is in Matthew's attempt to show that Isaiah 7:14 was a prophecy that a virgin would conceive, and that virgin would be Mary, mother of Jesus. This is not what Isaiah actually intended to say, because the original Hebrew for Isaiah 7:14 only said that "the young woman" would have a child and would call his name Immanuel, and the young woman did have a child just a few verses later in the Book of Isaiah.
Jesus Christ
commend them for their bravery!
Jesus.
No, it is not illegal. You can name your child almost anything you want. However, just because something is legally permissible does not mean that doing it is desirable. Religiously speaking, you shall earn God's anger if you did so. I'm not sure why you would want to.

The mother of Jesus was Mary. The Italian name for Mary is Maria. The names Mary and Maria mean wished for child.
He has many names but the angel told Mary:"You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus." Luke 1:31 NIV
If you are with child and unsaved what will happen to the child when Jesus returns?
I would never name my child Fillmore, even though it was the name of a president.
