Power Leveling is a service where you pay a person or company to level your character in World of Warcraft in a very short time. There are many sites who advertize for Power Leveling, and they usually use scripted programs (called Bots) to make your character run around, kill monsters and level up automatically while you are not playing.

Some people do this because they want to have a maximum level character with little effort and without investing time.

There are three disadvantages to Power Leveling, which is why it is discouraged to do so:

1) You learn no actual skills about the character you play, and because you have never learned to make good use of your character's abilities, people will consider you a lesser player until you have learned how to play. This can actually take longer once your character is high level than actually playing it.

2) It is against the End User License Agreement (EULA) you agreed to when installing World of Warcraft. Giving others access to your account and the use of Bots are both violations which can get you banned. Your money invested in both the game and the Power Leveling is then wasted.

3) Allowing someone else to access your account also allows these people to try and access your account later, possibly to sell it to other players. Also, it is possible that your use of a Power Leveling service may later lead to blackmail, as they will get you banned unless you pay more money. This reason is the least common, but also the most dangerous of the three.
