Derived from the Greek word Sheenus, the Wrestler Sheena depicts the image of a strong woman in the form of a goddess. She wrestles Zeus in The Epic of Zepherus Aganda with a spear made of dragon scales (this is obviously an allusion to Oedipus' sexual love of his mother who he procreated with.) The term "Voo Doo" was added in the 1800's by William Franklin Burbridge in his translation of the original piece. Burbridge titled his translation "Speaking In Tongues" after the traditional Voo Doo practice of ritualistic sacrificing of poultry--this would cause the Voo Doo queens to speak in tongues, because they were often aroused by the prospect of their completed sacrifices.
