You added freon to your 2001 Sebring LXi and now it makes this humming noise The air works but you dont know what that noise is?

Did you add an oil charge to the system when you recharged it and did you recharge the system using refrigeration gauges. The system may be low on refrigerant oil or you could have overcharged the system causing the compressor to have to work too hard.

Sounds like too much has been freon added. have it checked when cold. Too much will ruin and/or lock your compressor. Your problem is possibly the Orifice valve. About $3-5/00, 100 Labor. David That was $3.00 to $5.00, and $100.00 Labor (and new freon. It should hols around 3 12 ox cans. If too much Stop Leak or Leak Detector has been added, you have probable stopped up the orifice.
