Pain on either side of your lower abdomen is quite common in pregnancy. The ligaments are stretching and preparing for both carrying a baby and for delivery, as well your uterus is stretching and growing to accomodate your little one. If the pain lasts for more than 24 hours consistently, definitely check with your practitioner. Try lying down with a pillow under your feet to take some of the lower pressure off yourself, and by all means Take it easy!!

Yes, it's quite normal. Some women will experience some cramping or bloat a little. Your body chemistry and hormones are changing. Still, if it worries you please see your doctor. It's always wise when pregnant to discuss your symptoms with either a clinical nurse or go in and see your doctor. It isn't good to worry over something that could be quite normal when you are pregnant. Don't worry, it sounds as if everything is OK, but please check it out and get the stamp of approval from a medical care worker. Congratulations! Marcy

Yes this is very common in early pregnancy. Your ligaments are starting to stretch with the increased fluid, even in the earliest part of pregnancy. This will cause alot of pain as you get further along and may sometimes even seem unbearable. Warm baths sometimes help, but make sure they are not too warm. You dont want to overheat your body, this may cause birth defects with the baby. 100 degree water or cooler should be fine.

you may occassionally feel some pains when you are pregnant. I felt a lot of those in my second. My doctor said it is sometimes your muscles stretching. Anyway, see the doctor to be sure. Its always better to be safe than sorry. http://www.healthfun-ps.com

Sure. Your stomach muscles are having to adjust as your body changes size. Give yourself a rest for a few days from major activity and it should feel better.

If you haven't seen a doctor yet, it could mean that you have an ectopic pregnancy. This means that the baby is attached somewhere other than your uterus (ex. cervix, fallopian tubes).

Yes it is, its your body adjusting to the growth of the foetus in inside your body but if it is too painful that you can't go about your daily activities then see a doctor.

What are symptoms of eptpic pregnancy?

It can be hard to tell if you are experiencing an ectopic pregnancy because so many women don't even know they're pregnant at the time they would notice any symptoms of an ectopic. Some symptoms of tubal pregnancy such as a missed menstrual period and vaginal bleeding or spotting two weeks later are similar to the early signs of pregnancy. About 1 in 2 women who are experiencing a tubal pregnancy notice abdominal pain on one side or the other. 1 in 3 women feel light-headed and about 1 in 5 have shoulder pain on the same side as the stomach pain.
