This is useful. Cooking chips in an oven makes them quite less fatty than deep fried chips. Also, there is no danger of burning oil spilling on you. But watch out to make sure they don't get overcooked :)
Really it depends on whether you are cooking home made chips or frozen and if you are cooking them in a oven or a fat frier. Cook until golden brown. Do not leave fat on the cooker unattended.

They are boiled in brine, much like Hot Dogs sausages. They should never be fried like many UK chips now cook them. A good chip shop will usually have them in a dish of brine in the warmer,
