I'm going to take a stab in the dark here because the way this question is posted can be interpreted a few different ways. I'm going to choose the most logical way to rephrase this question: "Is answering a question with "I don't know" an answer?" In short, YES. If a person asks you a question and you answer with "I don't know", you are in fact acknowledging the fact that you don't have enough information to give them the answer that the question requires. A person asks you "What time is it?". If you have the information necessary...(you have a watch or a clock nearby) then you are *able* to answer them appropriately. If you lack the necessary information (tools) to answer, then you answer with "I don't know". "I don't know" IS an answer and it's a lot more polite than just walking away from the questioner without saying a word. I dont know is technicaly an answer but isnt a definte answer. the answer is 50% 50%. you dont know?
