It could be that the crown is not seating properly. If it is high and it is the first thing that you are hitting when you bite down, that could cause you pain. You need to go back to the dentist and have them check it.

Speaking from experience : usually it would take me about 5 days to a week after my last pain Med . Then after those days passed I took a pill and it hit me 2x as hard than it did 5 days ago or a week ago! Hope this answer helped
