my tooth was pulled four days ago and it still hurts,it had an infection under the tooth. Is this why it's hurting?
When your gums hurt, you are suffering from acute gingivitis or acute periodontitis (gum disease) and you should get treated quickly or you might lose your teeth.
You do know that you're dealing with bone, right? It takes time for your body to heal after surgery.
No, drinking alcohol before the mouth is healed can lead to a dry socket. It usually takes 3-4 days for a mouth to heal after wisdom tooth extraction.
This is a huge problem, this simply indicates that there was a mishap during surgery that this person is unable to open there mouth. I suspect a torn muscle.
I would not wait to take an antibiotic for an abcess tooth! If you get the tooth pulled with the infection still in site...you are in for one rude awakening when he attempts to pull that tooth!
After a contusion of the tooth, there can be temporary loss of tooth sensibility for a few days to several months. Pulp testing for nerve activity will be negative, even though the blood flow can still be intact and the tooth is vital. With a laser the blood flow through the tooth can be detected.
I believe you have to rest for 1 or 2 days after the tooth was pulled out.
Yes. It is completely normal. I had a tooth removed a few days ago and this white spot has appeared. You'll probably notice the day after your extraction that you have a red blood clot where your tooth was. The following days that blood clot will turn to a white/gray spot. This is your mouth healing itself. Completely normal. Don't worry, and don't remove it! You could get a dry socket and you definitely don't want that!
Of course there is going to be a substantial hole, that's the socket where the tooth was. As for the white you are seeing, that would be part of the jaw bone and was supporting the tooth that is now extracted. Your dentist can remove some of it, if you want but its not necessary!
not likely
I believe when this happens, your mouth will start to bleed, or become aggitated, call your dentist IMMEDIATLY when this happens! they also tend to fall out after a few days of healing. I had my tooth pulled Tuesday, and Saturday (tonight) they started to come out on their own. Hope this helps alittle :)
yes they have a tooth, but only when they are hatching. A few days later the tooth falls out.
Check points are: 1. Your bleeding doesn't stop for more than two days. % days in case of wisdom tooth. 2. Your pain persists or is getting worse. 3. There is appearance of white sluggish material on the socket. 4. You feel the taste of blood or pus in your mouth after 3 days of extraction. 5. Any muscle or nerve movement seems to be impaired. 6. There is limited mouth opening. 7. You feel some lump in gums surrounding the extracted tooth.
Following tooth extraction swelling can last up to a week.
