You have a 1983 Chrysler Lebaron gts replaced the starter now it won't turn over or anything the headlights and breaklight will come on and that is it?

Had similar problem on 1987 lebaron replaced starter relay under hood driver side over wheel well next to cooling fan relay.

The headlights run on a different fuse from all other lights. Locate and check this fuse. Also the headlight switch may have a circuit breaker inside and after time it will get weak and not reset. Check for power to the switch and if you have power to the switch and then the switch has gone bad and should be replaced.

have you replaced the dimmer switch? if not that may be the problem. I had the same problem in reverse( brights worked but headlights didn't) water damaged the dimmer switch on the steering column once I replaced it all was good.

I filanny got an answer. Echo taillight bulb is also break bulb. This bulb has TWO filaments in it, one for taillight and the other for breaklight. My case was taillight filament is gone, but breaklight filament is OK. Answer is "change the bulb" Model number is 7443, (not 7440, which has only one filament for breaklight).
