If that's in US dollars, take it.
A Stevens breakdown double barrel 2 3/4 in good condition should go for 900 to 1000 dollors.
It should be stamped on the barrel It should be stamped on the barrel
Magazine tube for a Savage/Stevens 87a should be easy give Brownells a call. I think the part I got for my Stevens Springfield 86 is the same part. Theirs is listed as Old Savage ....works fine in my bolt 86. Ed
If it is a typical Stevens double or single barrel there should be a metal lever towards the back of the stock slide it left or right and tilt the barrel down.
If it is marked with both the Stevens and Savage names and the 311 designation, it was made sometime after 1948. There should be either a letter and number in a circle between the trigger guard and the hinge if made between 1949 and 1968 or a serial number if made after that. The letter codes for 49-68 are A through V, so your Z does not fit in that sequence.
If it is not marked on the barrel, you should have a gunsmith measure the chamber length.
The Model 52A was made until 1937, so production of the 52B should have followed that. Both J. Stevens and Springfield were owned by Savage- you might check with their customer service department.
The barrel should be stamped 30-30 winchester.
There may have been a little difference in the grade of wood used and perhaps a little less care was taken in the fit and finish of the Stevens guns, but all parts should be completely interchangeable. Stevens was the economy line for the Savage Arms Corporation from about 1930 to 1990.
A fully functional Stevens double should bring between $100 and $250, depending on the condition.
that is pretty vague but it should say Stevens favorite on the top of the receiver and have j stenens tool company on the left side of the barrel.
It should be on the bottom of the barrel.
