I'm not sure what you call them... (Wood bees?) As long as there is wood for them to get into, they will keep coming back. You can use some type of wasp spray to get rid of the ones you can see, then when you notice one going inside one of his holes, slowly go to the hole (they don't usually attack when you are calm and not afraid) with a roofing nail and nail that sucker in his own hole. He will buzz madly for about 3 days before he dies in there! It's almost funny, but he will die since he can't turn around to get himself back out! I finally replaced my wood awning over my back porch with a metal one, so I'm sorry if I can't help any more than this. We had several good laughs until the kids came over to play and then had to do something different. An exterminator could probably answer your question without charging you!
it is strong enough to hole the pieces together.
Window frames are usually made of aluminum.
Wood is an insulator. The cold/heat of the exterior will not go through it to the inside of the house.
You can purchase wood window frames online with ease. All you have to do is type wood window frames online and find the website that suits the customer.
They are made of compounds not elements unless they are Iron or Aluminum window frames. Most window frames were made of wood but UPVC is becoming more popular.
Window frames used to be made from steel but aluminium is lighter and does not rust.
Because they are easier to make and adequately strong. There is no point making them solid.
Window frames for homes should not be made of steel because of the danger of lightning strikes. This is one of the reasons why window frames are made of either wood or aluminum. Steel also has the potential to rust if not treated properly.
because it is is waterproof, sticks well and lasts longer! and lets admit it smells pretty better the plastic!! :D
See the related link below which covers the construction of window frames including some interesting cross sections of wooden window frames including provision for pulleys and sash weights and views showing frames for brick, stone and wooden or frame walls.
