I used mederma - it's a scar healing ointment. Basically that bump is a keloid, which is a type of scar. It took a few weeks, maybe a month to go away. I applied every night and washed thoroughly in the morning. Make sure to moisturize the area and don't pick at it - touch it if you haven't washed your hands!
If its an old piercing its most likely scar tissue, if its a new piercing its most likely getting infected and there is pus in the bump.
No Having any form of lump or bump next to a closed piercing indicates there is some form of issue with the piercing. This also depends on how long the jewellery has been out of the piercing and how long you had the piercing before removing the jewellery. If you develop any pain or discomfort seek the assistance of your doctor.
A bump around your dimple piercing is the body guarding the piercing, the surrounding tissue toughens as the piercing heals. This will ease off as the piercing heals, ensure you are rinsing the piercing daily under running water (best done in the shower after shampoo and conditioner as these tend to irritate the piercing). Should you have serious concerns contact your body piercer and let him/her have a look at it.
Its probably Hypertrophic scarring. which is very common wit any cartilage piercing. Go to walmart o a drugstore and get a bottle of Tea Tree Oil. It's like $5 for at least a years supply. Just use a q-tip and dab a bit on the bump every day after you clean your piercing in the morning. The oil will dry up the bump and it'll flake off until its gone. Don't overload on the oil because it'll dry the piercing out. Try your best to get it on the bump and not on or in the piercing.
try to put tee tree oil on it
Use a q-tip and just dab the bump with the oil. Use it after you clean your piercing. I usually apply it twice a day but if that's too harsh for your piercing, only use it once a day. You don't want it to go inside the piercing, just on the bump. The oil will dry out the bump and it'll start flaking off in layers. If the tea tree oil doesn't affect it, it could be the jewelry. Especially if its a ring and gets hit often.
Mine didn't. But I've seen others have a bump on their nose from the piercing. But of course I always do my own piercings.
Yes it means that the piercing is not healed correctly and there is a buildup of matter inside the piercing. See your doctor.
see a doctor ASAP
then you squeeze it then clean it
A bump is a reaction to your cleaning agent, stop using it and look at the related links for more help with your issue.
That is a hypertrophic reaction. This is a reaction to an irritant, generally the over use of cleaning products and failure to rinse the piercing out correctly after cleaning. Irrigate the piercing under running water and stop using whatever you are using for cleaning the piecing , the bump will go away over the next 5 days.
