You have prob got the 64bit AVG so you could try to get the 32bit version. ( altought it still might not work)
OR you could buy Windows 7 and that would work with the 64bit AVG as all Windows 7 systems are 64 bit

Windows Movie Maker v2.6 can only be installed on Vista (and Windows 7) versions.
You can certainly move Windows to an external hard drive but Windows will not boot directly from an external drive. If you are running Windows in Parallels (See links below) you can have Parallels installed on the Mac's drive and then have your Windows virtual machine on the external drive.
Windows programs require the Windows operating system to be installed on a Mac. Windows can be installed (using the Boot Camp utility) and the Mac restarted so it is just running Windows like any other computer running Windows or it can be run in a virtual machine (using Parallels or Fusion etc.) which will put Windows in a Window on top of Snow Leopard. (See links below)
Version 6.1 is installed on my Windows 7 computer.

All new netbooks come with Windows 7 Starter already installed. To install Windows 7 on a netbook with a previous version of Windows installed you get the Windows 7 CD and insert it into an external disk drive you have installed on your computer. Then follow the installation instructions.
