im gonna take a stab in this, but,if you cut any wires to put the stereo in, then chances are that you are trying to bypass the factory amp in the trunk. i dont know how to go around the amp, but if yougo to your local electronics store purchase the adapter kit, reconnect the wires that were cut. plug the adaptors in the right place and it should work
If you do purchase the wire adapters and your vehicle is equipped with the premium sound... be sure to purchase a line leveler, also can be had at your audio shop
