Can you switch from active army to National Guard?

No. If you want to go from Regular Army to National Guard, you must first finish your active duty enlistment, then reenlist into the Guard - you cannot opt out of active duty during the time specified in your contract.

Can you reenlist from active army to army National Guard?

No, you must terminate your active duty statutory obligation (the period of active duty that you had signed your contract for) and then you have the option to enlist into one of the reserve components. If you are finishing your AD time, you will be required to talk with a RC advisor to clear the installation, ask him.

What is an easy way to get out of the army?

Finish your contract, and don't reenlist.

What ages serve in the Roman army?

There was no maximum age limit in the Roman army. The minimum age limit was twenty, depending on the times, but if a fellow was satisfied with the army he could reenlist indefinitely. There was no maximum age limit in the Roman army. Can you reenlist in the army reserve with a permanent profile?

Situation dependent. It might require a waiver, and now isn't the hottest time to reenlist under a waiver.

I am 37 can you join the army?

You can enter on an initial enlistment up to the age of 42. Prior service people use this formula: subtract your years of service from your age. If the answer is less than 42 you can reenlist.

Do you need basic training to reenlist in army?

You want to join the army but you were wondering what the major differences and advantages of doing the national guard's active first over the army's delayed entry program?

The two programmes really aren't comparable. Delayed Entry is where you make your obligation to serve before you're actually available to report for Basic Combat Training. You won't actually receive any pay or benefits until you report in for BCT/OSUT. The Active First Programme is an obligation to finish your contract in the National Guard, after first spending 36 months on Active Duty with the Regular Army. You will be able to drill with your unit and receive pay prior to reporting for BCT. The benefit of this to the National Guard is that receive soldiers who've served actively in their assigned roles, and will be better trained in those duties than a soldier who has been a part-timer their entire career. Those are the differences. As for which one is better for you, you need to decide what your goals and expectations are, and ultimately decide which one is right for you. In the Active First programme, you can expect to be somewhat of an underdog in your unit while you're serving your 36 active months - Commanders would rather prioritise soldiers who they feel will reenlist and remain in the Regular Army over someone who they already know will be relegated to the National Guard once their 36 months of active duty service is up, and will tend to favour the soldier who enlisted for the Regular Army (and for whom they have hope of getting to reenlist in the Regular Army) as far as things such as schools, promotions, etc. go.
