I usually do a system restore to a couple of days previous.....it works. If you know exactly when you lost it, just restore it to the day before.
Click the volume icon on the right side of the taskbar, then click the mute speakers icon.
Go to 'control panel' click 'sound, speech, and audio devices' then click 'sound and audio devices' and checkmark 'place volume icon in the taskbar' hope it works !!! thank quinnicegold
In the Control Panel, double-click the 'Sounds and Audio Devices' icon to launch the 'Sounds and Audio Devices Properties' box. Under the 'Volume' tab, put a tick in the box labelled 'Place volume icon in the taskbar'.
The disappearance of the volume icon on the Windows XP taskbar could mean the computer is infected by a virus. It may also be as a result of a corruption of registry settings.
Simply double-click the Volume icon in the bottom right corner. If the icon is not there, then:XP: Go to Start>Control Panel>Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices>Sounds and Audio Devices. Under the Volumetab, check Place volume icon in the taskbar.Vista: Right-click the taskbar and click Properties. Under the Notification Area tab, check Volume under system icons. If it cant be checked, restart your computer and try again.7: Right-click the taskbar and click Properties. Under the Taskbar tab, click Customize. Set Volume to Show icon and notification. If you can't, restart your computer and try again.Once you have done the above, you should be able to open the Volume Control Panel. If not, then your hardware might need to be reinstalled.
First you need to make sure the Taskbar at the bottom of the screen is unlocked. 1) Mouse over the Taskbar and right-click. 2) Look for 'Unlock the Taskbar' in the pop up menu. If you don't see 'Unlock' then the Taskbar is already unlocked. Next, drag the Outlook Express shortcut icon from your desktop to the Taskbar, and release. A mini icon will be created on the Taskbar. Click on the mini icon to be sure everything is working ok. If you want to lock the Taskbar, just follow steps 1 and 2 from above, but choose 'Lock the Taskbar' instead.
From the Start menu, open Control Panel Double-click Power Options Click the Advance tab Click the Always show icon on the taskbar. Click OK
Right-click the icon you want moving, and select 'pin to taskbar'
when you turn the computer on and every thing loads up, in the bottom right hand corner there should be a volume icon. click the icon and scroll the level of the volume down . HOPE YOU GOT IT :)
To move an icon from your desktop to the toolbar, first, click and hold the icon you want to move. Then, drag it down to the taskbar or the specific toolbar area you want to place it in. Release the mouse button to drop the icon in the desired location. If you're using Windows, you can also right-click the icon and select "Pin to taskbar" for a permanent addition.
Right click your toolbar and go to properties. The Taskbar window should pop up. Click the Notification tab on the top of the Taskbar Window. Click the check box at the bottom that says volume (under System Icons List). go to http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/KingNothing and sign up for SwagBucks.com Search the web and win Prizes!
Try restarting the computer again. If that doesn't work, I can't help you. It has happened many times to me as well. I am having another problem in that there is a mysterious lowercase "i" icon in the McAfee icon n the taskbar.
