It was not a good decision on your part to make out with the other guy while you were in a committed relationship. But you already knew that--since you wouldn't have liked it if he had done the same, and hoped he wouldn't find out. Your best chance was to tell him right away and apologize. At this point, there were two lies for him to forgive, and he couldn't. I think he is truly gone and the best thing you can do is move forward and do better by the next guy.
