if you brought it to school and someone stole it there, try looking in the lost and found. Try remebering about when was the last time you saw your iPod then think what you did after. Somebody could have snuck in and stole it from your bag lying around or locker. If you hadn't seen it for more than a few hours, check your bag and see if it fell out. Retrace your steps. If you can't find it and certain you lost it at school, tell an understanding adult. They might be able to help/

you can try talking with your friend first, and if you go to the police the first thing they will ask you is that how can you prove that the ipod you got its not your ipod and do you have any witness of the moment you gave him the ipod...
