Tampons are designed to go in the vagina and then be removed within about 16 hours. Leaving it in longer can result in an illness called Toxic shock syndrome.
The environment in a mans anus is slightly different so just to be safe the tampon should be changed more frequently but there is no risk unless it gets lost inside.

∙ 14y agoIt may cause you to take a trip to the ER to have it removed. It is going to swell to at least 3 times it's diameter once it is in there. It may be impossible for you to pass it on your own. There are a lot of things you can do to amuse yourself when it comes to sex and your backside. I think I would pass on the tampon.

∙ 9y agoI'm not sure why you would want your a to use tampons, but if he is male there is no way to do that. Although tampon sin theory could be inserted anally this is not safe as they would damage anal tissues and risk TSS. If your man is a trans man then it is up to him what he uses during his period - if he doesn't menstruate then he can't wear tampons due to TSS risk - you don't attempt to get him to use tampons if he doesn't want to.
