You were an executive for 12 years and a new CEO gave you the options of taking a severance package or be fired What can you do?
If I were personally in this situation, I would have to take the following factors into consideration: Why am I being asked to leave? By me resigning do I tarnish my name in any way? How competitive is the industry that I work for? and How successful has the company I have worked for been over the past 12 years? These questions will allow me to know If I will be desirable by another company upon me being let go. In an ideal situation I would get another offer from a major rival thus allowing me to accept the CEO's severance package with a smile.
